The Panama City Beach Pirates, the area’s only elite level soccer team, will kick-off the 2009 season this weekend, Sunday, May 10th, at 6pm where the Pirates are taking on in-state rival, the Bradenton Academics.

This Sunday 6pm, the action takes place at Mike Gavlak Stadium at Arnold High School located at 550 Alf Coleman Drive in Panama City beach. Join the Pirates for the first game of the season and watch as the team begins its rise through the ranks of the United Soccer League.

Pirate’s games offer fun and entertainment for the whole family, including pre-game rituals like the famous Dead-Men Walking team introduction, as well as the hoisting of the colors by the honorary Captain of the Match. At half-time, there are events and contests such as wacky relay-races, high-flying crowd handouts, and fan interaction.

This Sunday and in celebration of Mother’s Day, all moms get in FREE to the season opener.  While at the game, any mom can register to win a free “1-Year Fitness Membership” provided by Renegade Sports Center.  One lucky winner will be chosen at half-time.
