Cornerstone Marketing & Advertising, Inc., the agency of record for The Resort Collection of Panama City Beach, recently designed a new website for Edgewater Beach & Golf Resort, a signature property of The Resort Collection. The website launched May 11, 2009 unveiling a fresh image with rich photography, enhanced graphics, clean design, easy navigation and a wealth of information encased within a branding message of “Happiness.” A short two months since the website went live, there has been a 42% increase in site traffic and 33% increase in online reservation bookings compared with the prior two months.

“Everyone needs to hear some good news and know that all is not doom and gloom,” said Lisa Burwell, president and founder of Cornerstone Marketing & Advertising. “Cornerstone’s vice president of creative services, Bob Brown, did an outstanding job crafting this beautiful site along with the rest of the Cornerstone and Resort Collection team. This surge of business for Edgewater serves as a reminder that an investment in image pays off even in hard times.”

Paul Wohlford, vice president of sales and marketing for The Resort Collection, said,  “We are thrilled about the results we are experiencing and glad to see that our guests find the new site to be as helpful and refreshing as we do.” He added that the branding message, “Happiness is…” communicates that now, more than ever, people need to take a break from the stresses of daily life and enjoy themselves on a vacation and is part of the marketing terminology, “deservability.”

Belk’s Fall 2009 Style Statements

Tuesday, July 28th, 2009

Prim & Proper
This trend offers delicious dressmaker details such as romantic flowers, bows, ruffles, tiers and draping. Elegant textiles like lace, lush wools, satin and charmeuse allow women to easily explore their feminine side.

The Highlands
This is the perfect trend for a divine dose of English Country. Prepare to plaid - then add paisleys, checks, animal prints, tweeds and winter florals. A plethora of patterns is a must.

Sharp Cuts
Sleek is chic and architectural shapes are the signature of this trend. Slim pant legs, the strong shoulder, stand collars, seaming and folding - all details that guarantee sophisticated style and often give looks that ’80s edge.

Folk Finery
In this last style statement, create a Bohemian tapestry inspired by India, Tibet, Russia and Eastern Europe. Embroideries, embellishments and “other world” textiles have a gypsy flare.

Monday, July 27th, 2009

This process gives direct reference to and interaction with the background providing each unique project with a distinct reference to time and space. Kilwin’s Gives Back

Monday, July 27th, 2009

As a thank-you to the community for supporting Kilwin’s Chocolates Fudge & Ice Cream at Grand Boulevard, owners Kristen and Paul Nykamp have decided to give back through two events next week, “Scoop for Cause” and a partnership with Destin Harvest.

“Scoop for a Cause” will be held Monday July, 27 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.  During this time 20% of all Kilwin’s sales will go toward helping local soccer coach and business owner, Jason Thompson, who was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer.  Jason’s favorite sundae, “The Corner Kick” consisting of vanilla ice cream, butterscotch topping and delicious toffee crunch pieces will be featured on the 27.  More information about helping Jason can be found at www.kickingitforjason.com.

“We decided to create the “Scoops for a Cause” Program to thank everyone for their support of our business over the past two years.  We wanted to thank our customers and especially our community for their business. We are honored to help Jason and his family in any small way we can,” Kristen Nykamp said.

Tuesday July 28, Kilwin’s will partner with Destin Harvest from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. For every cone sold at Kilwin’s during those hours, an equal amount of ice cream will be donated to Destin Harvest.  Anyone interested in donating their own food to Destin Harvest can leave it in the “Needs Drop Off” box at Kilwin’s on the 27.  Destin Harvest is a local food bank that passes donated food on to non-profit organizations in the community.

“In honor of National Ice Cream month, we thought donating ice cream for every cone that we sell would be perfect,” Kristen Nykamp said.

During the hours of these events, with the purchase of a waffle cone, customers can buy a second waffle cone for only one dollar.  Anyone interested in helping Kilwin’s with their “Scoops for a Cause” event should e-mail Paul or Kristen Nykamp at destingrandboulevard@kilwins.com.
